How To Prolong The Battery Life Of Your iPhone: KSA Tech Experts Share Some Useful Tips

One of the new features that the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus can boast of is the slightly smaller battery than that of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. But even if the new iPhones come with smaller batteries, Apple says that they offer the same battery life as the previous generation iPhones since they contain the power-efficient A9 chip and other power-saving features.

But regardless of whether you own an iPhone 6S or iPhone 6S Plus, since you are putting this handset to optimum use every day for various reasons, you will still have problems with prolonging its battery life every now and then. The good news is that there are various ways for you to save or prolong the battery life of your iPhone. KSA tech experts share some useful tips below:

Always close any apps running in the background. Even if you close an app, they are not completely turned off. In reality, all the apps you have ever opened are still running in the background and eating up battery life. To close these apps, make sure you fully exit them. You can do this through the following ways:

  • Double tapping the Home button.
  • Touch the app and flick it up and away toward the top of the screen.
  • Close three apps simultaneously by touching each one with a finger and flicking them all up at the same time.

Identify the power-hungry and battery-killing apps. If your iPhone has the iOS 8/9.3, it has a built-in feature named Battery Usage that can help users identify the apps that have been draining the battery the most in the previous 24 hours and seven days. You will see this feature in the iPhone’s Settings menu. When you open it, you will see a detailed breakdown of the iPhone battery usage of each app. After identifying the apps that fail to sleep when they are not in use, take the necessary measures. If disabling Facebook can extend your handset’s battery life and stop battery drain, deactivate it immediately.

Deactivate location services. Location services, like the built-in GPS, have been proven to be big battery drainers. If you want to prolong your iPhone’s battery life, completely close any app and features that have or come with location services.

Disable live or dynamic backgrounds. It is definitely fun to watch or look at live wallpapers and backgrounds on your iPhone. However, since they are made up of animations, they consume more power and you will lose battery quickly if you have them. As such, it is best to stick with static background images as your wallpapers.

It would be great to use your iPhone without constantly worrying about draining the battery and finding a way to charge it. You can do this by following the battery life saving tips above.
